American Red Cross of Lakeside
|
The purpose of this club is to teach essential life-saving techniques and procedures, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Fire Rescue and Safety, and to contribute to the community through volunteering and hosting blood drives at Lakeside High School. Additionally, the club will host lectures and demonstrations exploring and informing Lakeside students of various blood diseases and common safety breaches, such as fires and floods. This club will use Remind in order to communicate upcoming meetings and events. |

Astronomy Club |
The Astronomy Club provides an opportunity for students to learn more about our Universe outside a classroom setting. Meetings will highlight pictures of our Universe, show videos of current research, and introduce new topics to members. Members will participate in fun activities and games that are centered around our amazing Universe. Outside events will potentially be set up where students can come view special events such as eclipses and meteor showers. This club will use Remind in order to communicate upcoming meetings and events. |

The LHS Beta Club is a volunteer organization for 10th-12th graders. We frequently participate in both school events and CSRA events, including elementary school festivals and food drives. Black Student Union |
The goal of the Black Student Union is to inform the school community of Black history and culture. This organization hopes to offer an extended view of the Black community and allow for community building. Students of all races, backgrounds, and nationalities will be allowed to participate in this organization. Dues will be $25 and can be paid on RevTrak. BSU will meet the third Wednesday of every month in Mrs. Jackson's room. |

The Lakeside High Buddy Club is a social club for students in all grade levels. It gives students with disabilities extra opportunities to socialize and enjoy high school activities with their non-disabled peers. The Buddy Club fosters friendship and acceptance for all! Buddy Club membership dues are $25 and include a t-shirt. Students can participate in activities in and outside the classroom, such as, holiday parties, Special Olympics, group activities, and sporting events. All activities during the school day are scheduled during your lunch period. Dues can be paid to Mrs. Kean in room 313 by cash, check (made payable to LHS), or on Rev Trak. Chess Club |
The purpose of the Chess Club is for students to improve their academic skills such as concentration, reasoning, creativity, and problem solving. The Chess Club will meet every other Tuesday in Mr. Meitin's room. |

Cyber Patriot |
Cyber Patriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. Cyber Patriots will meet every Wednesday in Dr. Davis's room. |

DECA prepares students to become emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. DECA allows students the opportunity to improve their leadership skills, compete and participate in service to their community. Dead Poets Society |
Dead Poets Society Club is similar to the movie in the way that the club uses literature and poetry to let students express and inspire themselves. Dead Poets Society meets on Club Day in Mrs. Eackloff's room and will use Remind to communicate other events and activities. |

Debate Team |
The Debate Team provides a space for students to grow their public speaking skills and conquer their stage fright. As a community we foster confidence and aim to give everyone a platform to communicate their ideas. Please see Mr. Sasso if you are interested in this club during the next Club Day. |

Diamond Girls |
Here at Lakeside High School, we have great baseball teams that need your support. You can help by becoming a Diamond Girl! Being a Diamond Girl will require some commitment but we are a very flexible group of young ladies. Responsibilities of being a Diamond Girl include making and decorating goodie bags, posters, signs, and anything else that will show support for our baseball teams (plus we always have one of the cutest T-shirts around!). Attending games is not mandatory but if you love baseball, you will definitely want to come cheer our Panthers on! When attending home games, we try to wear our shirts and be a good representative for Lakeside High. Spring is always a particularly busy season so if you are involved in other activities, sports, etc., we can work around that and still find a way for you to be a part of this wonderful tradition at Lakeside. Sign ups and the deadline for dues are usually within the first three weeks of January. Dues will be $30 and can be paid on Revtrak. The dues pay for the t-shirt, goodies that go in our bags, markers, etc. Please join the Remind and I will send out information about sign-ups as soon as the second semester begins. GO PANTHERS! To involve students in community service activities that include Augusta Urban Ministries, Hope House, MCG Children’s Ward, and the Golden Harvest Food Bank. This club will meet on Tuesdays in Dr. Davis's room. |

The goal of this club is to build a welcoming and encouraging environment that values cultural variety, encourages global awareness, and advances understanding between all students. ISC will meet on Club Days in Mrs. Lozano's Portable. |

International Thespian Society |
Honor Society for Drama students. The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of your theatre program. ITC is an Honor Society that will use Remind to communicate information that is pertinent. |

Fellowship of Christian Athletes |
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is NOT just for Athletes! FCA is a year-long club that is an excellent opportunity for all students to worship, fellowship and learn and share about the gospel of Christ. Even though the group is mainly student-led, we will often have speakers from the community share testimonies and lessons from teachings of the Bible. We will participate in a few local activities such as canned food drives, volunteer work, etc. The club is open to anyone wanting to learn more about the gospel of Christ. The FCA Vision is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. FCA focuses on equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. We normally meet every other Friday morning before school in the auditorium. The Lakeside Review |
The Lakeside Review publishes a yearly collection of quality student artwork and writing. All publications consist of the work of Lakeside High School's students. Students who contribute their work to The Lakeside Review will benefit from experiencing the process of submitting their original work for publication. In the spring, students will be able to submit their work to be reviewed for publication. The student editorial board annually selects the best visual art and poetry submissions and works to assemble to The Lakeside Review through all phases of production. Lakeside Support Coalition |
Join the Lakeside Support Coalition and cheer on Lakeside’s sport teams and fine arts programs. The club is open to EVERYONE; LSC welcomes ALL students from Freshmen to Seniors! LSC is a year-long club that supports Lakeside sporting and fine art events during all seasons. Our activities begin in August and run until May. We are best known for our awesome student section at football games where we participate in theme nights, dress in costume, and cheer on our Panthers. Prior to the home games we have tailgates where we “paint up” to match the theme, play games and socialize with fellow students. LSC is the place to be and great for making new friends. "Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Boomerang Project’s proven high school transition program trains mentors from your junior and senior classes to be Link Crew Leaders. As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success.” -Boomerang Project Rising Juniors and Seniors can apply in the spring for membership the following school year. There are mandatory training dates at the end of summer, and all members must be present at Freshman Orientation before school starts. Model UN |
Model UN is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations and the duties of the United Nations. It is a great way for students to build their leadership and communication skills. They learn to work together in order to create resolutions and get a deeper understanding of current global issues. The National Technical Honor Society is a joint venture with DECA, HOSA, JROTC, TSA, FBLA, and FGE. NTHS is a national society that works to provide scholarship opportunities and employment outreach programs. New induction applications are accepted in the Fall and generally an induction ceremony occurs prior to the end of the Fall semester. Students who complete the required volunteer hours and maintain membership in their CTSO earn meritorious status and the NTHS honor cord for graduation. SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) |
SADD’s mission is to empower young people to successfully confront the risks and pressures that challenge them throughout their daily lives. Students collaborate to create a healthier and safer world, one positive decision at a time. We accomplish this by creating, equipping, and sustaining a network of student-run chapters in schools and communities focused on peer-to-peer education. SADD fosters a sense of belonging and promotes resiliency, leadership, and advocacy skills so that young people make positive life decisions that will carry them throughout life. Science Bowl |
Science Bowl is an academic bowl type competition in which members buzz in answers. Questions cover topics in Math, Chemistry, Biology, Energy, Physics, and Earth and Space Science. We generally select two teams based on speed and correctness of answers. We practice once a week after school unless we are about to enter a competition at which time we practice more during the week. Science Bowl members meet every Friday in Dr. Cato's Classroom. JOIN SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY AND SPANISH CLUB We meet once a month on Club Day. Attendance is monitored. There are so many reasons to join.…our meetings will help members apply knowledge of Spanish language and culture, which is a highly valued skill to add to any qualification, major, or field. Spanish Club also looks outstanding on college applications. Furthermore, it is one of the most fun societies/clubs at LHS! There is a fun-filled cultural activity planned for each meeting. The Lakeside High School Spirit Squad is a cheerleading team that brings together students with and without disabilities. It is open to boys and girls in all grade levels. This is the first inclusive extracurricular activity in the county! There are no try-outs and students DO NOT need cheer experience. What you DO need is compassion, patience, and leadership skills. Students need to fill out an application and return it with a reference letter. Students also need to be in good standings with academics, attendance and behavior. Tri-M is the only national honors society in the U.S. for musicians. Being involved will give you countless opportunities to perform, lead and serve the community. While in this chapter you will learn accountability, responsibility and other character building social skills by performing music and working with other musicians. You must be enrolled in chorus, guitar or band at LHS in order to be a member. Meetings are announced with Remind. |

True Crime Club |
Examine the history and psychology of true crime – members discuss and study major cases, examine these forensically, and go in depth with the psychology of victims and perpetrators. TCC meets in Mr. Martindale's room on Club Day. |
